Willow Deep Studio provides custom professional gold leaf or painted signage for your business, house numbers for your historic home, and entrance signs for your country cabin. Choose from a variety of traditional gilding techniques, styles and fonts for your signage, or owner/artisan Brenna will work with you to create an original design or logo from scratch. Owner/artisan Brenna is a member of the Society of Gilders and has years of professional experience applying verre églomisé, the french term for the traditional technique of gilding onto the back of glass to make a mirror finish. Signage can be gilded and/or painted directly onto your storefront window or house transom or on wood, metal, glass or other material so it can hang separately and be transportable if needed. House numbers or business signage may involve a vinyl stencil or be drawn by hand, depending on the look desired. The Daily Freeman featured Brenna’s glass artworks at the Varga Gallery in its coverage of the 2025 Phoenicia Festival of the Arts, held annual in Phoenicia, NY. Both the Black Hole and Wormhole remain on display at the gallery through Fall 2025.

The Preservation League of New York State has featured an interview and demonstration with Brenna as part of their “Trade Stories” video series highlighting the value of and providing resources for careers in the historic preservation trades. This Winter 2025 series is funded by the Historic Preservation Education Foundation and The Peggy N. & Roger G. Gerry Charitable Trust.

Upstate House featured Studio Hinterland’s bathroom design for the 2024 Kingston Design Showhouse, including a custom leaded stained glass panel by Willow Deep Studio, in their Winter 2024/2024 issue article “Dopamine Decor: The Feel-Good Home Trend”.

Chronogram featured Brenna of Willow Deep Studio as their very first artisan in their new editorial series, “Making a Living as an Artisan” in July 2024.

Brenna Chase of Willow Deep Studio was credited for her restoration work of the above panels in The Magazine Antiques feature, “Object lesson: Bringing Stained Glass Up Close” in the September 22, 2024 issue.

The waiting room of the newly-restored historic Clovelea in Saugerties was designed and executed by Hinterland and was featured in the Daily Freeman’s coverage of the building’s renovation. Multiple original pieces by Willow Deep Studio are featured in the space, including custom terrariums, various suncatchers, and a pressed leaf leaded glass panel hanging over the original 1882 mantelpiece.

Willow Deep Studio’s hand-painted signage for the book+record shop Everything Nice in Ellenville was featured in Chronogram in September 2023, along with a photo of Brenna working on the sign for Chronogram’s Eat Play Stay newsletter.

A custom glass and gold leaf lamp created by Willow Deep Studio was featured in the main bedroom of the 2023 Kingston Design Connection Habitat House, thanks to designer Nancy Geaney, and is included in Chronogram’s coverage on the house and KDC’s new partnership with Ulster Habitat for Humanity.

Willow Deep Studio was featured in the Kingston Design Connection 2022 Showhouse as part of the Hinterland Collective “Forest Floor Boudoir” bedroom, including a custom leaded stained glass panel, a sacred geometry suncatcher closet feature, and smaller gold leaf objects including a hand-gilded mirror. This is the second year Willow Deep Studio has participated with the KDC, as Brenna created a custom stained glass lantern and gilded house number for the exterior of the 2019 showhouse.

The bedroom was designed and created as a collaborative effort with all of Hinterland’s designers, artisans and makers and was featured in several design publications including House Beautiful,  Inside+Out, and Chronogram.

Brenna was accepted as an artist in the 2022 O+ festival in Kingston and built a three-dimensional stained glass installation for the event. Willow Deep Studio is honored to have been invited to participate in the 2019 Kingston Design Showcase, which connects interior designers with local artisans, manufacturers, and the growing Kingston design scene. This project involved building a custom stained glass lamp for the featured home’s front door, combining the historic building’s traditional aesthetic with a contemporary twist. Willow Deep Studio also gilded the house numbers on the front door of the home in 23 karat gold. The results are featured in several articles on the Kingston Design Showcase and its founder, designer Maryline Damour. It was a pleasure to work with Amanda Sanchioni, the designer for the exterior of the Uptown Kingston showcase home, originally built in 1890 and now an airbnb named The Wiltwyck.
